Hi All

Just got a Blackberry and lovin it, what was I thinking using windows. Need some help and hope for some patience from the blackberry pros. I have been reading through the forums and can't seem to find a clear answer.

Here is my question.

I can't get my blackberry 8330 to reconcile with my email correctly.

Background information.

Email: Outlook on an exchange server at my school.

Blackberry: has my email registered and receives emails.

Problem: When I read an email on my computer at school and open it, it does not open it on my blackberry and I have waited hours for it to sync. I still continue to get new emails on my blackberry but the old emails that have been read on my computer remain unread on my blackberry.

Have I done something wrong or is it even possible to have it sync.

please advise and thanks in advance for your help.

Jim

I assume that you are using BIS? If so, email doesn't sync. You will have to delete on both the PC and the BB. Read on one isn't marked read on the other.

There some server side reconciliation, but only very little and depends on how you have your email set up on the PC and how the school has it on the servers.

Not sure if this is specific to Shaw email, but once I download my email on Outlook, the emails are removed from my Blackberry. Any thoughts?

Are you asking if they should be or stating that they are?

Can't see why they would be deleted from the BB by downloading to Outlook, if you are on BIS.

They are. It didn't do this about a month ago, and I just noticed them starting to disappear on me. It seems to be unique to my Shaw email, as Yahoo, Gmail, etc. are fine.
