I apologize if this is a repeat of what was in the telenav 5.1 for 880 thread:
I am so impressed with how much better 5.1 is compared with 4.7. 4.7 was slow to connect and download routes and it basically rendered the device useless for any other task. Somehow, with 5.1, they've managed to improve and add functionality, while, at the same time, making it faster and lighter.
My only complaint is the multitap for searching (it's strange, that suretype works for other things) and that the "follow me" 3D map view doesn't show speed and elevation.

any one have a holux 240 and pearl?
When i start 5.1, it says the paried bluetooth device is not valid and to repair a different device. Uninstalled, rebooted, Deleted, added repaired, reinstalled, no luck.
It worked great with 4.7 and still works with Google and BBMaps.
Any ideas? I think I'm going to call the telenav folks tomorrow.

Unable to...help!
I tried to download both from my BB (AT & T) browser:
TeleNav
TeleNav
However, I keep getting an 'unable to connect to server/server may be busy' error window.
Running the lastest software dowladed via AT&T site...any help would be appreciated!

I had a similar issue with my GlobSat 359. Try deleting the device from the bluetooth paired devices menu and then re-adding it. Worked for me.

I haven't been able to get 5.1.0.29 to log in. I'm getting "Can't connect to server [10]. Please try again later". I dread trying to call telenav support.

For those having trouble connecting via bluetooth, make certain your setting are set properly.
Telenav xxx8211; Tools/Extras xxx8211;Preferences xxx8211; GPS Source: Internal or Bluetooth

Hmm, on my 8700c, I don't have a choice to choose Internal or Bluetooth, it just gives me the option to select a bluetooth device. (which is ok because I don't have an internal GPS)

I am having the exact same problem. I have verified the settings are set to Bluetooth and in the Configure GPS option I select the only option which is my HOLUX240. I have tried deleting the HOLUX and repairing, deleting Telenav rebooting, etc with no luck. Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated.
If I figure anything out I will let post as well.

I have put a poll up to try and raise awareness to Telenav about what their customer base is saying about not supporting the issues with 4.2.1.x, various pucks and Telenav 5.1 which many have complained about in this forum. Please see the link below and respond to the poll.

Thanks,

GPS Connectivity 8100
I have exactly the same problem as described. My problem is that it keeps disconnecting and then I have to move heaven and earth to get it to reconnect. What a pain.

I have had issues with the GPS puck disconnecting while using TeleNav or other applications like Google or BBMaps. I don't believe the disconnects are a TeleNav problem. I believe it's a bug in the 4.2.1 OS code. However, it works better when I shut down all other applications and removed unused themes, freeing up memory (some of those themes are pretty big!)
As far as why the pucks won't connect at all, I haven't experienced that. I use a BT-359 (same as the TeleNav puck, though I didn't purchase it from them.)

I ordered the Telenav puck from the Cingy site to see if it behaves the same way. I called a few stores in my area and nobody had one they are all on BO. I spoke with a (seemingly) knowledgeble sales person, she has the pearl and the tele-puck and the newest version of telenav (she even knew it ended in 29) and she says it just plain works. I wonder if the rogers OS i am rockin is the fly in the ointment.

i got a new curve and i also had my older pearl, with the old software on the pearl my reciever worked fine. i downloaded the new software to the curve and it didn't work, so i tried the new software on the pearl, guess what? it didnt work any more. i asked telenav and they stated they do not handle any gps receivers that are not their brand!!
EDIT: well since i work in an ATT store, i tried to pair the Globalstat BT359 receiver and it works great. Guess the new software doesnt support older GPS receivers?

that takes it, i'm canceling. there's no reason they shouldn't support a standards compliant bluetooth puck, even if it's not the (overpriced, imo) one they sell.
