Re sound level: I believe this needs to be adjusted by the device's profile sound level in order to work well. We always try to max it out.

There seem to be a sound level issue when first installation of any of the phrase books, my 7100v sound is max out before and after installation. The sound is really soft.

7130c. Device OS 4.1.0.327 (Platform 2.1.0.26). Desktop Manager 4.2.0.10 (July 26 2006). Desktop installation of BEIKS-RIM-En-Chn-TP-5.9.exe went without a hitch. No go on ADPCM (as expected, but tested nonetheless). MP3 pronunciation is male voiced, although I feel the pronunciation is not quite dead on accurate (I am a Mandarin Chinese speaker and have studied Chinese at the college level both stateside and in Shanghai, CN and am familar with certain nuances (there are quite a few) exhibited by speakers in both China and Taiwan). Inflections are for the most part accurate. Certain phrases are improperly pinyinized, most of the pinyin is not properly punctuated (capitalization, in particular) and certain phrases can be otherwise worded with greater clarity. I also feel that the title of the application is better served by: Talking English-Mandarin Chinese phrase book for BlackBerry. For the record, I use China2Go (H&H Soft) on Palm OS and LingvoSoft Talking PhraseBook Chinese Mandarin Romanized <-> English on PPC (WM5).
