I'm in the same boat Rambo. My wife thinks I'm crazy but I want that keypad and trackpad. I hope BB builds this unit.

Classic comes after the Passport, I think. Passport is in September.

I'm guilty of straying to iPhone. I've always missed the physical keypad and given the trend toward bigger screens on iPhone and alike, I can't wait for this new BB Classic to come out. Do men really want to carry one of these big screen phones in their pockets?

I always thought BlackBerry screens were just the right size, but like you, I strayed to an iPhone (and some other large screen phones) and found the usability of the larger screen trumped the size advantage of the smaller devices like BlackBerrys. That's why I'm really eager to get my hands on a Passport. It can still easily fit into a breast pocket in a suit jacket, and probably into a shirt pocket.

Mysterious Fake Cellphone Towers Are Intercepting Calls All Over The US

This article may be misplaced here but I put this Yahoo article in this thread because I'm very excited about the Classic. I'll bet the security built in to BB's can't be hacked by something like this.

You're right Rambo, the BB screen is the perfect size. My wife thinks I'm crazy. She wants an even a bigger screen than the iPhone. We don't always agree on stuff.

I was hoping for a Verizon Passport, but the folks who claim Passport will be AT&T-only while the Classic will be a Verizon exclusive are gaining credibility. Seems like that move would p!ssoff a lot of people on both major U.S. carriers, but it doesn't seem like BlackBerry cares.

Passport: AT&T only.
Classic: Verizon only.

Any word on the battery for this model? I'm hearing conflicting info. Does anyone know if the battery is removable on this unit? I would hate to run around with a charger like I have to do with my work iPhone. That was one of the key features that I liked with my Bold 9930 is that I could always carry a spare.

don't really need a spare battery on the Passport or Z30 from my experience. The battery is huge and lasts me all day with heavy use. I just charge at night.

GPS and wifi hotspot will kill battery quickly though and I usually have it on a charger when using GPS or Wifi HS

Yeah...I'm sure it has a long battery life but I still like the freedom of being able to throw in a fully charged battery and not be tied down to charging the phone itself. I also worry that over time, that internal battery will need a replacement. How long that is will depend upon the use and care I would guess. Anyway, it seems like a great phone and I'm anxious to see it since my Bold 9930 is into its fourth year and starting to have some KB problems. I'd almost go to a Q10 for the battery option but I like the idea of the BB buttons returning on the Q20 since I'm used to it. Have to wait and see...

Used to be so fast on getting a different device because the one in hand is not doing its job or one key is not working. .this time my BB9900 Touch has its left side and right side keys broken (my 2 y/o is also addicted to BB keys-) Waiting on RIM/BBRY to get the next device so that will make it easy for me to get the right device .. at this time if it breaks i will just get another touch and keep it till budget/addiction allows the next BB. love the BBRY. Still have the 7290 model sitting around just to feel how comfy those keys are/used to be.
