Whatsapp has worked fine on my blacberry 9300 for months, in the last couple of days for some reason when i get a new message the small red alert symbol does not come up on the green whatsapp logo. I have no idea why, it is very frustrating as I dont know whe i have new messages until opening whatsapp. The red light also does not flash on the blackberry to alert me.
I can find anything about this on the net, i hope someone can help!??
Have you recently changed profiles on your device? Have you tried going into your active sound profile and checking/changing the notifications that WhatsApp uses?

Hi, yes I tried this, I tried changing them notification from silent to a sound on profiles, but i guess as the notification isnt appearing, it's not working. I also reinstalled whatapp, but that didnt help
Have you gone into the setting to check (Edit Profiles or Sounds for selected Profiles)? I use another IM app that sometimes will lose it's notifications when I switch sound profiles. I have to go back in and manually change it.
As you say, you have already reinstalled the App, and I assume a battery pull in the time it has not been working?

Hi there, yes I have tried changing the settings on my usual profile- vibrate and even on loud, to no avail. when i press "test" for the whatsapp messenger alert it works fine. Just when it comes to getting a message... nothing. I've taken the battery out a couple of time too for good measure.
Have you done anything to your device. (Installed a third party app, or edited a permission), I know it's a long shot, but from their support page I can only find problems with 7.1 and sound notifications.
