Default Is there a desktop charger for Storm that can be used with a shell still attached?

Please Login to Remove!

I am looking for a desktop holder/charger for my storm. However, I am already using a Holster / Shell Combo with Rubberized Swivel Holster which I purchased at a Verizon store.

Is there any desktop holder or charger that would work with a some kind of holster/shell still attached to the blackberry?

I want to charge this at my desktop every night but I don't want to take the shell off and leave the unit unprotected and break it by accident.

Please let me know. Thanks.

It depends on the case.
I use an otterbox commuter case, and it has a port cover where I can plug it in.
Without access to the Micro-USB port, you cant charge it.

But can you keep the otterbox commuter case on the storm and then place on the desktop charging cradle?

Please let me know. Thanks.

You cant use the Otterbox in the charging cradle.
Seidio makes cradles that work with their cases

These Seidio products are quite interesting. I see the Desktop Cradle for the Storm. So this would allow me to keep the case on while charging the Storm in the cradle. Is that right?

I am looking at the photo of the desktop cradle on Seidio's website. Is there a specific Seidio part number for the case that's compatible with the cradle?

Please let me know. Thank yo.u

The Seidio product is interesting. Just called them. They said it only adds 1mm of thickness.

Do you think I can I keep the Seidio case on the Storm and then place in my car cradle?

I have the Seidio Cradle and the Innocase Touch case for my Storm. You can keep the case on the phone and it fits in the charger.

From the Seidio website:

Seidio Desktop Cradle is uniquely designed to sync and charge your Storm without removing your cases.

xxx9679; Dock your Storm in its "naked" form or with one of these installed*

- All Seidio Innocases including extended versions
- Seidio Premium Skin
- Seidio Innocell Extended Life Batteries
- Blackberry OEM Skin

xxx9679; Removable smartphone attachment gives you the option of charging your device with or without cases
xxx9679; Fits the Storm in its native landscape mode for better viewing

xxx9679; Charge using your existing OEM charger or our optional USB Travel Adapter

Default Seidio

Yes, you can definitely place the Seidio case on the Storm in your car cradle. The car cradle is compatible with the case or extended battery.

If you have any other questions feel free to send us a message.

Regards,
Seidio
