I had to disable the SMS notification to get AlertMatrix to react to incoming SMS's. Something about the BB OS doesnt like more than 1 program hooking into the SMS notifications while Email is perfectly fine with it.

It has been working fine with both apps on mine. I did need to do the refresh photo thing that was mentioned earlier but works.

Yes, I have exactly the same: the picture is not shown both in emails and in sms. I contacted the support team, they send me some instructions but it didn't work, and no more news since two days ago.
I hope they solve this in the next days.

I AGREEEEE.
And also the Inbox action would be much better if it opened directly the email instead of the inbox.

Unfortunately, RIM does not allow access to native e-mail for 3rd party applications.

Does anyone else want a different font? I find it pretty difficult to read... It's too blocky.

The app already interacts quite a bit with the native e-mail application. Additionally the PeekaWho folks have confirmed the "Mark as Read" functionality is being worked on and will be in one of the next two releases.
You stand corrected.

I have been using the latest (1.16) also. I thought it was my imagination about the shorter battery life. I see it has been mentioned here before. I emailed support and they said no way it's their program.
I also have a problem turning off the SMS notification. I am using other programs that need to hook into this. If I uncheck the option box, Peekawho still grabs the SMS and give me a pop up box.
If I uncheck, click escape, then do a battery pull, the SMS box is magically checked again after reboot. Contacted support and their answer made no sense. In any case, it does not fix the problem.
This is a nice program but there are still bugs to be worked out.

Not to thread crap, but along the lines of this sort of application. I downloaded a free trial of Aerize Alerts. I have to say I am impressed with the app. It works along side of BB Alerts, you have "marked as read" option and can add pictures to the pop-ups...

I just sent off an email to the developers of PeekaWho but thought I would post here to see if other agree or disagree or just for your information if you don't have an opinion. I have heard they are responsive to feedback so I figured I would thow in my 2 cents.
email to SmrtGuard:
I am a current licensed user of the the PeekaWho product and overall have found it to be very useful. I just had a few suggestions to improve the user interface for readability on the Pearl.
First my stats:
T-Mobile Pearl 8120 OS 4.5.0.93
Now my suggestion.
1. Get rid of the "New Email from" that is displayed for every email. I understand you may trying to distinguish between email and SMS but don't clutter the Sender information with this Intro it forces the user to find the name in the test string.
2. The fonts should distinguish each section of the message (for example, the Sender can be a bit larger and bold, the subject and content should each have different font sizes and colors (see attachment for example of how the Outlook2003 Alert differentiates the Sender, Subject and Content to visually see the elements quickly.)
3. I really like the images at the bottom to select what you want to do with the message. I would however suggest that if the "Delete" option is selected that the application picks up the users setting in the "Delete On" field so that the delete function can Prompt or Delete the message from the main mail system if that is what the user has selected. (I know this isn't just a UI function but thought I would throw it in here).
I do love the app and would just love to see these three things tweaked. As my mother always said, if you don't speak up nothing will ever change and as some of my best bosses have said...don't complain if you don't have a solution. So here are my complaints and my solutions.

I agree 100%. In fact, I have already personally suggested #3 to the developer.

I love this program, I have been using it for about a week and its GREAT! I just wish that it could control how many times the phone would vibrate when getting messages. I used to use Notifire for this same thing and it would let you have the phone vibrate up to 10 times when getting a text, email or pin. that is my only complaint about the program.
I want my 5 vibrates back, when the phone is in your pocket 3 just isn't enough all the time. I miss text and emails all the time.. :(

another good suggestion, I think, is to have the screen go directly to the new e-mail that comes in when the "inbox" icon is pressed. That way, it would save a few steps in terms of scrolling to the appropriate e-mail.

i have 8120 with 4.5.052 and app version 1.16. i am not getting caller id or pic in the popup. i have tried the update phonebook and it says it is successful, but i still only get the actual phone number listing, not caller id. my phone does know who the message was from and lists it correctly in the message or sms folder.
any suggestons on what could be wrong appreciated.

There is a new Beta Version that was released. At first, I didn't get pictures either but since installing the new version I do. I got it off of Crackberry.
