Angry MORE Sync issues with Vista

Please Login to Remove!

I have been attempting to add my contact info from Yahoo, and gmail through windows mail and BB Desktop Manager v4.7. After converting all the contacts to the comma separated value format, and importing them to windows contacts, I get an error message application unable to read file. So I searched and searched this site and found no fewer than twenty posts on how to fix it. And now I am frustrated and confused.
This is my first experience with the RIM product line, and I must say, they are dropping the ball on the contact sync.
I know that there is something Im missing, since I am a newbie. so I hope that someone who is running Vista sans Outlook can help me.
One of the posts said you had to know if your version of windows vista is 32 or 64 bit. How do you know? Where is this info?
i thought I had it bad back in 2000 trying to sync a nokia N95 with an Apple.
I have downloaded v 4.2 of the D Mgr. and will try that.
Is this to say that RIM made a worse version as an update?
I have been trying to stay away from the iPhone & At&t, but the stuff actually works.
Oh yeah, I have a BIS account with T-Mobile. I love my Javelin, and the UI of the BB (except the browser not enough O's in slooooow) but it IS a great device, please help me, as I have been on this damn machine all day trying to figger it out!
Thanks

Which program are you using to sync your contacts?

Yahoo, Windows Mail, or Outlook?

If Outlook, which version?

It seems I may have to purchase Outlook or MANUALLY enter the names addresses, emails, etc. on the 8900.. ouch I got blisters on my thumbs (to paraphrase John Lennon) Unless ... somebody out there can help.
Or send the whole kittenkaboodle back.

I'm not too sure if Windows Mail can be used to sync contacts.. Is it listed in there when you try to configure the sync?

I remember the 4 options for contact sync being:

Yahoo
Outlook/Outlook Express
Lotus Notes
ASCII

I haven't heard of Windows Mail being compatible.

Its 2 sumthin am... still no luck. There is an option for windows mail in DM for import. Guess it depends on what format the data is imported to windows mail before syncing with DM and device. I will perservere more after some catching of the winks.
