Considering I was able to sell my wife's 2 year old Bold 9000 for $180 on eBay, I'd say you could pay for your new phone that way.

I'm keeping my bold for a backup. That way if something happens to my torch I won't have any downtime waiting for a new phone.

Ditto & a smart move. My 9000 was backup for my 9700. Once on vacation my 9700 got a JVM error white screen of death was useless. Pulled the 9000 out of my backpack put the SIM card in charged it up and at least had a phone while I waited for a warranty device. When I returned to work the replacement 9700 was waiting for me.

9700 is now my 9800 backup starting tomorrow when my 9800 arrives. Now I can sell the 9000. And now that they both use the same charger I don't have to carry around 2 chargers with me. WIN WIN

I have a 8800 as my backup . Ancient I know, but again, my 9000 basically PAID for my Torch... couldn't pass up that deal.
