Default Updated firmware - mistake?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

I have just updated my OS bundle to the latest one as advised by me BB desktop manager .......... problems problems problems!!!

My bluetooth setup is no no longer to auto connect to the handsfree kit in my car, I have to access the phones bluetooth settings and prompt it to connect.

despite performing a backup as part of the update process, I list a couple of apps (inc BB Maps), a number of apps had to have tjeoir activation codes re-entered.

The most annoying bit though is that when my phone auto-starts at 7am, or after a re-boot or soft start, I get a message stating -
"Get O2 settings" with either an 'OK' or 'Cancel' option.
If I tap 'OK', 30 seconds later I get a SMS stating "Unfortunately we had problems dealing with your request for settings. Please contact Customer Services"
Untill this latest update, I never had any of theses issues.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Some apps are not compatible with the update. In any OS update, you will need to reinstall some 3rd party apps to get the latest versions.

For the SMS issue, have you tried a battery pull?

What version did you update to? Your profile says you are on .246. I had no problems at all when using that one.

Resent the service books? Re-registered via the host routing table?

Please update your profile if you stay with .546.

I am running .534 and everything works. Had to reload the additional apps however.

See How do I resend my service books? - BlackBerryFAQ for instructions on resending service books. Answer on registering also there.

There are two ways to force service books to be sent.

You can do it from the website where you setup and configure your BIS email, etc.

The other way is from the Manage Internet Email app on the BlackBerry smartphone.

No idea about the link, or what link. Either resend the service books from the email setup app in the device, or login to your carrier's BIS page and do it from there.

The link http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.p...rvice_books%3F takes you to blackberryfaq.com.

Hi all,

I have resolved ALL my BB problems by rolling back the OS to the pervious version (as per my profile)
Doing this has meant that I am no longer getting an sms from my carrier every morning saying that "Unfortunately we had problems dealing with your request for settings. Please contact Customer Services"

Also, I was having problems accessing wifi hotspots - this also seems to be OK now and all seems well with my Torch!

I think that in future, once my Desktop Manager tell me theres an update, I'll leave it atleast a month or so to see what others are saying before I update.

As always, there are some knowledgable folk on here and I thank you all the advice and tips provided
