Question Help? BB Browser won't change address??

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Everyone,

Ok here my seranio, I just got my Rogers BB BOLD and I would like to change the homepage address to goggle, right now it loads up moible.blackberry.com

I tried to everything I can think of, also this is not my frist BB I sort of know how they work.

So this what I have been trying to do and still nothing.
Ok here what I am doing step by step

1 going to browser opeing it hit BB key going down the left full menu side till I get to options.
2. Opening options and going to browser configuration
3. Going straight to the bottem were it reads, Default Search Provider goolge.

Now rigth under this your is your HOME PAGE ADDRESS my is set to
http://www.moblie.blackberry.com, This is what I like to change, so when I open Browser it goes to GOOGLE and not the blackberry address.

EDIT: I can downloaded Opear Mini but I only see it for 8830 not the 9000 when it does it setup it say my internet is not setup, Please check you service proivder if someone can help me I use this.

I am hoping you understand me
Thank you everyone

I deleted that bookmark, then bookmarked Google and renamed it "Home Page".

I have this problem as well on Rogers. I called them and they said that this was a "default" by RIM. Is there anyway we can delete it ourselves on our end?

this is getting annoying.. i made it go to the default state page now.. the one that shows your history and the search bar and made a new bookmark as a workaround...

Default Redirecting the Browser home page

If I understand your question correctly, here's what I did to get rid of the At&T browser page...
I opened the browser...
then Options...
Then Browser configuration
Then Start Page>>where I chose Bookmarks (I had previously bookmarked Google)

This is how I changed my homepage to google... First, I went to Google, than went to Menu, Options, Browser Configuration. Made sure my Start Page was set to Home Page. I clicked on Use Current to reset my home page to Google. Now when I go to my Browser, it automatically opens google. I'm a BES user if that makes any difference. Hope this helps.

This issue is not reserved for the Bold, I have an Alltel Curve 8330 and not only is my browser being forced to Blackberry Homepage, I cannot change my emulation from anything but Blackberry, I called Alltel and of course they've never heard of this issue. I even went as far as to wipe the device and install fresh with no luck, near as I can figure these settings are being pushed to my device but by who?

Interesting . . . I am on AT&T and when I go to Browser Configuration, The Browser is set to MEdiaNet and my choices are:
1. Support JavaScript (checked)
2. Allow JavaScript popups (checked)
3. Terminate slow running scripts (checked)
4. Use Background Images (not checked)
5. Support Embedded Media (checked)
Show Images: On WML & HTML Pages
Browser Identification: Blackberry
Home Page Address: http://home

I do not have a check box option to Use Current to reset my home page. I have tried changing the Home Page address and it will not let me erase it or type over it. I've even tried selecting the address thinking I could paste the new address over it. No paste function and shortcuts don't work either to paste.

Ideas? (This phone is less than 24 hours old and it is on v4.6.0.167 and Platform 4.0.0.157)
