I have a 7100g
Desktop Manager version 4.0.0.30

My situation:
When I double click on Application Loader it gives me the setup wizard, as expected. When it retrieves the information off of my handheld it says

"The system applications currently installed on the handheld are newer than those available with this version of the Desktop Tools"

It then gives me 2 options:
1. "Leave the applications on the handheld unchanged (Recommended)"
2. "Replace the handheld's applications with the older versions provided by this version of the Desktop Tools."

I'd prefer option 1, but if I have that as my choice I can go no further in the wizard because the "Next" button is greyed out. And thus can't add any more applications.

Will replacing with the older versions get rid of something in that folder? Or will everything function find and the same?

BTW, I searched the site for a similar issue for about 30 minutes and came up with nothing...just in case this is a rehash of an earlier post. If it is, simply direct me to the old post if you happen to know where it is.

It sounds like you need to install a newer version of the 7100 Handheld OS on the PC, since the version that's installed is older than what's on the device. Handheld OS installs over the top of Desktop Manager.

v2.6.0.43 for the RIM 950 and RIM 957
v3.7.1.36 (Platform 1.4.0.37) for the BlackBerry 7750
v.4.0.0.198 (Platform 1.8.0.121) for the BlackBerry 7100 Series

If I put in the install disk that came with the device it says "a newer version of the desktop software is currently installed. To install the older version press Continue...etc."

Where can I get a newer version of the 7100 Handheld OS for the PC?
