Which part are you referring to? I though you meant the part near the trackball & send and end buttons. Looks black to me.

He means the center frame (the inside metal frame that holds all the goodies). They send that to you along with the outside case/shell. I don't think anyone goes that far with the conversion...too risky!

I ordered mine on Tuesday, which was Wednesday in Hong Kong, and I got it on Friday morning at 9:35am. And you must be there to sign for it because it is an international package but maybe that's an FedEx requirement

Yes, you are correct my goodie were good already. I'm glad to know that everything were in the box. I was thinking very hard about that because it comes with NO directions, so I took a leap of faith and didn't break it down any further. I was thinking it might not fit together correctly or something along those lines.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Well I got my order in today for the full black housing and they sent me the wrong keyboard :( so now I have to wait to get the right one before I put on the black housing. Worst part is I had the entire silver one off black was about to be put on and I reached for the kb and was like hey that's not a $ symbol and was like awww so I tried black with silver kb and couldn't deal had to swap em out n wait till its all correct. I have to say tho I don't kno why I was worried this is the easiest phone to take apart and swap housings on. I did it at my part time job in 10 mins very simple

Got mine today...Looks great. However, I have a question..What is the purpose of the mid-plate? Is it needed in the install?

Nothing, it's there if you whole frame was broke and if it was the BB is seriously broken. Take the leap of faith!

Did mine today, came out great. The keyboard is soooooooo much easier to read in low light. The blue backlight was a bad idea!

The only folks who have reported that were those who either left the plastic screen protector on, (which you did not) and those who tightened the four screws on the lower portion of the BB to tight. Several have backed them off a bit and reported it helped. If that doesn't help I would email Cnn and ask them to replace it. They seem to be very helpful. Good luck.

Default Blackberry 8830 in Black

I now have the perfect latest-last-cellphone-I-will-ever-own. Hee!

I wrote Verizon's Customer Service department and suggested that the black case should at least be an option for the 8830. I mean, seriously, the black case is so much nicer!

Just my US$0.02.
I ordered my black case complete last wednesday from cnn along with the keyboard and it was originally deliverd on Friday however since no one was home I finally got it yesterday. Well I finally was home with my little kids to attempt the swap over. First let me say that this swap is about as easy as it gets. My only issue came about after I had completely taken all side rails off and also the front and back. Upon puting unit back together the two way sticky tape on the right side rail was placed over the little button that sits under the volume up button so needless to say seeing as though that two sided tape is pretty strong it removed the button . Now I can not turn up the voulme on the phone. Any ideas as to what to do. I am not sure if there are replacement parts available to fix this situation. Any ideas/suggestion would be appreciated.

I would first email Cnn and see if they could help. I think the only way to get it fixed (assuming you can't reattach it) is to put the original case back on and take it to an authorized dealer for your carrier. Don't tell them it happened during a case swap. If it's still under warranty they may be able to fix it for free. Just tell them it popped off. I looked around and could find no web site that offered such a specific part. Perhaps another poster may suggest one, but I doubt it. Good luck.

I was able to manufactuer a plastic piece to fit and it is working. I just have to remember that it is there when ever I remove the side rail. Thanks for your input.
