Last night my bb curve began running low on battery. I plugged it into the usb on the pc to charge. About an hour later I noticed it had not charged any! I then plugged it into the wall charger & left to charge over night, only this morning when I tried to switch it on, nothing happens. I've pulled the battery several times, but all that happens is when I first put the battery back in, a constant red light will come on for about 15 seconds & then go off. And thats it no life whatsoever. I took it to a man on the market for a new battery & he said it wasn't my battery, it was the charging port that was broke, one of the prongs inside maybe. He sold me a universal charger for the time being that plugs into the wall, you remove your battery from the phone & plug the actual battery into the charger. Only when replacing the battery back into the phone, nothing different is happening, leaving me to think it's something wrong with the actual phone! HELP, any suggestions!

Well, your USB connector could be broken. Does you BlackBerry turn on and boot up right now? If so, does it connect to the computer and can you do a backup using Desktop Manager? If so, that is evidence against the connector being broken altogether, and maybe not broken at all. (And do a full backup if you can.)

It is also possible the battery is not making proper contact with the terminals on the device. Take a look. Make sure the terminals are clean and not bent out of place. Make sure the battery fits tight in the compartment. Make a shim using a business card or piece of index card if you have to.

And its also possible there is another hardware problem with the BlackBerry.

Finally, make sure the new charger really charged the battery. Check the battery in another BlackBerry if you can. It is possible your battery is no good and you need to get a new one.
