Question What is this symbol?

Please Login to Remove!

I've recently upgraded from 8703 to the Tour - yes big upgrade. I love the new phone, but am bugged by this symbol at the top of the screen. It's not voicemail, email, sms. It has a 1 to the left of a circle with an arrow going down to the left and a red x in the top right of the circle. I took a screenshot and attached it. Does anyone know what this is and how do I please get rid of it? It's very annoying.

It is an AppWorld notification. I believe you need to upgrade the version of AppWorld.

Thanks for the help.

So I went to the app center and it says 1 new item. The only thing in there that does not say "not installed" is Blackberry App World, but it says downgrade (see attached image). Why would I want to downgrade? Anyways I clicked on it and wen through the whole install process, rebooted, etc. and that symbol is still there with the same downgrade associated with Blackberry App World.

If not App World, how do I find out what I need to upgrade?

If it is App World, what do I do?

I know it's a small symbol and doesn't mean much, but I don't like things there that shouldn't be there.

All help is much appreciated.

If it is AppWorld, just go to OPtions > Advanced > Applications.

Find AppWorld and delete.

Then on your browser to mobile.blackberry.com and download again.

I deleted it and it went away

I went online, reinstalled it, and it came back

I deleted it and it went away again

I'm not reinstalling it. Way too frustrating. Unless anyone knows of some sort of fix for this. Thanks to all for helping.

delete the message about the upgrade in your messages folder.

You have a Main messages folder? Or using the email-specific folder?

When you open App World on your BlackBerry you see 4 categories across the bottom of the screen. The far right one is "My World" and will list all the apps you've gotten through App World. Most likely one of those has an update available. Just use the My World section of App World to do the update, and Bob's your uncle!

There's a free app for screen shots called Capture It

Here's an OTA link:

Midnightdraven (or anyone else) - I use the main message folder where all my emails and calls go into. I looked through this folder and found nothing. Texts go into the SMS folder, which is currently empty.

rambo47 (or anyone else) - I reinstalled app world and it came back. I went to my world, but I don't see any updates. I have attached the screenshots. There are a couple of uninstalled items and some installed. The installed ones have no update option when I hit the menu button for each application. I cannot completely remove the uninstalled ones from this menu. I went through the delete process, but they're hanging around here still. I doubt they're the issue, but who knows? Anyone know how to get rid of the uninstalled programs on the list. They're not in the application section of the options screen.

Thanks all!

So I did a battery pull and now a 2 is next to it. It turns out Pandora needed updating. I also saw a message from Pandora. I deleted it and the 2 went to a 1. So I went back through the messages and found another!!! I deleted it and now it's gone. Yes - I'm an idiot for not finding it earlier. All's well that ends well.

Thanks Midnightdraven!!!

The uninstalled list is still there, but I don't care about that.

I am so happy and grateful for everyone's help!
