Default 9650 Bold Trackpad issues?

Please Login to Remove!

I've upgraded about 60 of our lines to the (Verizon) 9650 Bold since it was issued back last June.

No problems at all with the trackpad (knocking on wood now).

I've upgraded somewhere around 12 lines to the same device in the past 4 months and already 2 of the devices have had their trackpad stop working (unresponsive when you attempt to scroll or press down on it).

Wondering if it's just a coincidence, a bit of bad luck, or if RIM produced a bad batch of devices. Searched around the internets and haven't stumbled onto anyone else having a similar issue.

Thanks,

Jim

Two is right on the edge of coincidence/bad batch. I have not heard anything about trackpads failing so for now I lean toward coincidence.

I think a lot of glitchy trackpads are due to poor connections at the ribbon cable connector. I would just use a tiny dab of dielectric silicone on the contacts, reconnect and test.

New trackpads are only $20 thru amazon.com and amazon.com/bb (blackberry app OTA download)

Toolkits are $4 thru amazon too

Step by step videos are all over youtube
