In my opinion and experience, there are no free GPS Nav apps that are better than the non-free GPS Nav apps.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8900)

Like Penguin said I doubt you will find something as good as the paid apps. You might try MapQuest Navigator and pay for a yearly license, which is only $50. That equals out to under $5 per month. I like the MapQuest Navigator better than AT&T Navigator, too.

Try Amaze. It's free, and it works well.

Not anymore. Mapquest Nav is now $9.99/month. No longer can be purchased outright by ATT customers. Other carriers yes, ATT no.

I suggest you buy a GPS receiver dongle pair with device via bluetooth and use google maps. I have it for me 8230. Didn't have to subscribe to anything. google maps is a free app and the GPS receiver dongle cost me $50 bucks I believe. Check ebay for a GPS receiver dongle.

I suggest that you look at the sticky in the GPS & Mapping section. We have reviews of most of the map applications for your reading pleasure.

Curious - you can buy an annual $49 subscription direct through Mapquest if you tell them you are using Rogers. Any idea if the software recognizes AT&T when its installed? On my 8800, I just used a verification code and paid Mapquest (really Telemap) directly.

Why would you suggest a bluetooth gps receiver instead of using the 8310's built-in gps receiver?

Also, the OP already ruled out Google Maps.

It's changed. If you look on their site the purchase now "excludes AT&T." It seems AT&T is in competition with itself with ATT Navigator and Mapquest Navigator. Makes no sense to me. I was about to buy Mapquest Nav BECAUSE I didn't want to pay ATT's $10/month. Now I won't buy either.

If true, then he/she should update their profile.
