Default BES vs BIS

Please Login to Remove!

First, I have checked the FAQ, but not sure I am getting the positives of each vs. comparison. My company is finally getting a BB Server and I will have the option of using the BES. I know the obvious, like better email integration and my calendar always being up to date, but will I lose any other aspects by changing to the BES? I have had a BB on BIS for 3 years now and like everything it does, so I do not want to lose a good thing while I have it. The move to BES is completly open and not mandated, so I am hoping there will not be too many restrictions. Will I still be able to have 3rd party apps? Games? Separate contact list?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 10000)

That is all conpletely dependent on the IT Policy your company uses, if they use one. Your contacts can always be in sepearate groups. Talk with the BES admin, and see if there will be an IT policy restricting the things you want, like 3rd party apps, and decide from there if it is worth it.

As Nick stated, it depends on the IT policies, if the company wants, they could restrict access to the browser, camera, 3 party installs and so on. Also you will need to change your Data plan from the BIS plan to the enterprise plan.

Discuss with them which policies they are planning on putting in place.
