Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 10000)

Yes, if you have OS 4.5 you can open the video camera and change the settings to light on. Very bright indeed

You can do this with OS 4.3 also.

That must just be a 8330 thing. I don't believe 8310 or 8320 had that in 4.3.

I used the Video camera Light while I was fishing the other night. That thing is amazingly bright. It gives you just enough light to manage. I wouldnt expect it to be no spot light tho

someone should make an application that with a click of a button the light turns off/on. this way u can assign the left side or side buttons to do it, and it will be like a real flashlight this way.

Seems to me that using the LED Flash as a flashlight might cause it to burn out prematurely. Might be nice to use in an emergency but for normal use I'd be concerned.

Have you tried setting the flash to always on after you upgrade?

My old Sony Ericsson K750i had this option and I used it for 2 years without any problem... LEDs are know to last very long.

LED's are far more efficient than other light sources. That's why they are being incorporated on the newer vehicles because of their efficiency and longevity.

I don't think it would hurt the led but it would sure run the battery down quick.

I'm pretty sure if you go into the video camera and hit the Space key it will toggle the light on and off. Not quite what you are suggesting but should still save a bit of time.

Possibly.....because I had the video option right out of the box before I even updated.

Yes, video recording was included in OS 4.3. It was first released on the 8130.
