Default Sim not Provisioned. Pls help

Please Login to Remove!

Hello

I'm having an issue. My sister got her BB over ebay after I got mine through a local company. Anyways her phone arrived today and when she tried putting in her sim.. it said sim not provisioned.

I tried putting mine in her phone shows the same thing. We tried several other sim's from fros other siblings and parents all with different companies and no sims will work.

What can she do to fix this?

firmware is .126

Besides the telephony service you need your SIM provisioned with a data service and a Blackberry service. Where did you get the SIM from? Did you explicitly ask for Blackberry services?

freakinvibe - You don't need to have any data or BlackBerry service provisoned on the account for the SIM to work for voice and SMS. You will not get BB data, but the SIM will work for voice and SMS text.

The phone must be unlocked (which is where EZ was headed) to use any other carrier's SIM card in it.

I know that you can use the BB as a phone only (you see a "GSM" sign at the top right corner of your device), but why buy an expensive Bold then. A cheap Nokia would do.

I had a "SIM not provisioned" even on an unlocked Bold. It was just a matter of calling the carrier that provides the SIM and asking them to switch it on. So I got my SIM working within minutes.

That would be a decision of the purchaser. I have seem many BlackBerrys without data plans.
