Default SureType HELP!

Please Login to Remove!

I loaded the new OS 4.5.0.52 onto my Tmo 8100 on a BES.

I can deal with the camera not working, but the SureType is not working well and I need help.

Whenever I type a word that is not in the dictionary, I used to be able to scroll the weel thru the pop up menu of choices of alternate spellings. Now the pop up comes up but I can't scroll thru any selections. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug of the software.

I would upgrade to the latest OS that everyone is talking about where the camera is fixed but not sure it will help and some posts mentioned knocking out SIM on TMO.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
THanks

upgrade. There's been no mention of the latest version messing with SIM cards on the 8100.

Below is a post from the 8100 NEW OS thread......Has me a little worried about upgrading and being on TMO

"Hmm, camera fixed, but has a lot of bugs. Scanning bar stuck in the media screen. Clock, network and batter label all shift when moving to preferences screen.

Also knocked out my SIM card... first time for that... I'll pass on this one... A busted camera is better than this crap. Every release gets worse and worse :("

Honestly, I don't believe that user knows what they are speaking of in regard to the SIM.

It is your decision, though. Don't upgrade if you are worried about it.

bhsalzer, I loaded the most recent OS on my 8100 last night (.55) and here is my experience so far.

The camera is fixed!

The scanning bar did NOT get stuck (8gb card).

I don't know what you mean about the clock, network and battery labels shifting. And in what preference screen?

I've never had the fried SIM card problem, that was common with .28 or .37 for some, and I've used every beta OS since the 4.3 betas. It's only been some hours but my SIM is still good. Knock wood.

I must disagree with your statement that every release gets worse and worse. As I stated, I've used them all and I have seen improvements with every single release. I always do a standard upgrade, never a wipe and restore.

Now if they can only get Unite! working so well.

I have upgrade the OS to the latest. And unfortunately I am running into the same problem.
Anytime I spell something, the text pops up suggestions that you can scroll thru. Unfortunately since upgrading (twice now) I

Any help in solving this one problem involving the text entry would greatly be appreciated.

Red face Works for me

I just did .55 yesterday. Since then the pop up list works fine.

Sorry I can't offer much else then to say it does work.

I can say that I only have five third party apps - web Messenger Alerts, BBWeather, google maps, circle popper, and webmessenger. Alerts and weather run in the background - the others are not running right now. Maybe you have an issue with an add in / third party app?
