My blackberry curve 8900 has be running slow lately and has started to lag or freeze. I will notice it freezing when I receive or send a text as it takes a min or two to open/send. Any suggestions to get the texts running normally again? I have done the battery pull and haven't seen any improvement. Also, I have never "updated" the software for my curve, I know there is a 5.0 for this 8900 on the Blackberry site, should I do that update and what changes come with it? Thanks guys.

I'd also tell you to check your Options > File Free.
What is the number there?

Sorry I had already started it. It's now on restore >> Databases: SMS Messages which is moving super slow and making little progression..

Be patient, very patient, the whole upgrade can take 30-60 minutes according to the amount of data to restore. If your SMS usage is great, it can take a while.

It's already at an hour, and my text usage is very high.. probably take 1 1/2 hr + more as the SMS messages aren't even half way yet..
