Default Problem seeing SD card

Please Login to Remove!

I've got a problem. I cannot seem to get my microSD card to work. I have a 2Gb card.

I get media card cannot be read -- Verify that the memory card is formatted.

Media Card Support: On
Mass Storage Support: Off

I hit menu and select save settings.....Then go back into media card and select menu then format..

Error -- Media card format failed.

BTW, what is this option to Install Card?

Any ideas?

Reformatting in Windows (again) seemed to fix it. Not sure why.

I am having a similar but probably more elementary problem. I cannot find the option to enable/disable media card support. I also cannot find any way to view the files in my microSD card via the gui.

I wonder if I would have to buy a port for my computer to format it or if I could just plug it into my camera to format it?

I've had this happen once or twice on my 8800. I rebooted or did a battery pull and did not have to reformat the card. For some reason my device lost track of the card.

Look under Options -> Advanced Options -> Media Card
You should be able to format from there via menu

As for a port on your PC, easiest way is probably a microSD to SD adaptor (looks like an SD card) and a USB card reader that reads SD cards.

Default Same problem

Hi,

I have the same problem with the media card... When I go to the "Media Card" menu via the "Advaced Options" I can only see

Media Card Support: Off

There is a little red lock sign displayed next to the "Off" parameter.

Clicking the track ball brings up the menu, however, there is nothing but "Save-Close-Full Menu" that subsequently expands into "Help-Save-Swithc Application-Close" menu. I would like to turn the Media Card Support on but that menu option is nowwhere to be found.

When 8800 was fist connected to my PC it was identified as a mass storage device, however, I clicked "No" when asked whether Idd wanted it be enabled.

Did anybody have the same problem? I just want to ENABLE the Media Card Support but am unable to find out how to.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I have a feeling this is due to some security setting my company has placed on the blackberry. Did you get anywhere with trying to tunr the media card support on?

The little red lock sign means that your company has installed an IT policy disabling the media card.
