Dear Expert

Before I have posted my thread I read many other forums how to connect a laptop to BB to access internet via Bluetooth ,some of they suggested that depends on your ISP and your device

The quote below is from other forum which I can not post the link for it because I have got less than 15 posts

The BlackBerry is capable of function as a modem and used with a computer for internet access. The term is tethering.

Whether you can do it, and the cost, depends on your mobile service provider.

Desktop Manager includes the component necessary to tether, but the feature is only present (or at least visible) if the mobile service provider allows it.

My advice is to talk to your service provider and ask if they permit tethering, and the cost.

Some providers, or carriers, do not charge extra for tethering under fair use provisions, but most do charge a fee in addition to your BlackBerry data plan.

That's what I can tell you. Perhaps you will get some responses providing more detailed info relevant to your particular carrier, etc.

Thanks I wasn't aware of this term. I have learned something new and I believe this term will help when we do a google search to get better result for what we are looking for.

Yeah, I mean maybe someone can tell you what your options are with your service provider, confirm what vodafone rep's tell you and/or what you find from your internet search.

Good luck.

Thanks

This is what I found from google

Ensure you blackberry is connected to your laptop via bluetooth, you will have to do a search for blackberry devices on either the phone or laptop. Once you have it connected, then these are the settings you will require below.

Bluetooth Modem Properties xxx8211; Advanced Tab.

Extra initialization commands: +cgdcont=1,"ip","vfinternet.au"

On the Bluetooth Dialup Connection:
Username and Password are blank, phone number is: *99***1#

I'm on a $34.99 Vodafone blackberry plan with unlimited data, and the tethering consumes that data, so there are no extra charges for doing this.
The above quote fixed the problem
