Default Do Palm Treo's handle data the same way as BB?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone, I know this is more of a Palm question but it's kind of related to BlackBerry so figure you all might know. Being a home personal user, I was a bit put off by BlackBerry since I don't want to pay Rogers' super expensive data fees to use the BlackBerry server, just to send the odd email, since I know all data goes through the RIM servers.

I'm just curious if anyone knows, with a Palm Treo, does this work the same way? Or could I get like a Treo 600/650 and get a standard home consumer data plan and have it handle data the same way that say my RAZR does?

Most carriers have a BlackBerry data plan or APN which they will sell you for a fixed fee. On other smartphone devices such as Windows Mobile 5 there is no specific APN but what you will need to buy is some sort of inclusive GPRS data bundle with however many MB's the carrier deems you may need for your requirements.
