I would imagine that the Bold version from Verizon will be a World Phone. Just wish it would come out already.

I waited in line to purchase the BB Storm on the release date. I had alot of high hopes for the phone, but many of the issues I've noticed I believe come from its low-speed processor when compared to the Bold. I've had 4 (maybe 5) replacements; some for general crashing of the phone, others for the screen click becoming useless around the edges progressively getting worse. Anyway, I called today to get yet another replacement and asked if they had any equivalent Blackberry device coming out soon. The support tech then said 'we're looking at releasing the Blackberry Bold "soon" and you would most likely be able to transfer to that phone'. Hope this isn't old news, but if it isn't; it's a good sign for the storm users who have issues.

One note regarding the storm, if you're not a power user, it seems to work well, my friend has one and has not had any issues. I use mine all the time for e-mail, text (~4000/month outgoing), and phone (over 10 days use in 1.5 months).

The tech is most likely misinformed. VZW should launch the 9630, Blackberry Tour, codename Niagara this summer. Rumor has it as July 13th, but there's not a lot of agreement on that date. About 45 days ago the rumor was May, but that seems to have been blown.

The Tour (Niagara 9630) is basically a CDMA version of the Bold, and should be numbered 9030, but they don't want it seem inferior to the Storm (9530). The Tour should be a world device, with a GSM/CDMA radio, similar to the 8830. There's a lot of other specifications on this forum if you're looking for exact details.
