I'm glad VZW is getting a new BB they need a new non-touchscreen BlackBerry

I am guessing since it is world edition... all the 4 GSM frequencies will be supported. Is it a correct statement?

We can only assume so at this point, should be quad band like the Storm I would think.

I doubt RIM would take a step backwards.

An actual replacement to the 8830!

If it had Wifi then it would truly be something.

Still looks like a very decent device, definitly a model I will look when I am up for an upgrade, too bad the article doesn't mention the processor or onboard memory.. All in time I suppose.

I reluctantly returned my Storm and went back to my 8320. As much as I loved the Storm's touchscreen, I think the Niagra will be my next Blackberry. Maybe RIM will deliver an improved Storm in 2010.

this wasn't worthy of a new post instead of digging up a 3 month old one?

Well, a three month post in this forum is what 5-6 threads down, not really a big deal bring back this thread, with updated information.

(What's the big deal anyway?)

Oh really. Not putting W-Fi into any new Blackberry is a HUGE step backwards!

All BB's after should be including wifi... and I made that statement months ago before we actually saw the specs for this phone.

Note: I "assumed"

Interesting review.. Seems to be what I am expecting.

A real quick BlackBerry is something I would love The hour glass is becoming a very common sight for me nowadays.

Wifi isn't really too important especially with 3G/RevA coverage

Still can't wait for this phone!

It seems to me like the 8830 and 8330 were not really designed with OS 4.5 in mind - it is not exactly optimized to fit on our devices. Kudos to RIM for getting OS 4.5 to work on them, but in general, it seems to have slowed my device.

Ditto.. 8830 seems very crammed with software after 4.5 especially with it's memory leak..

I believe the 8330 can handle 4.5 and maybe 5.0 it has ample memory for apps.
