Default Provider OS flashing

Please Login to Remove!

hi i am from hong kong and I have recently purchase an unlocked bold 2 from a store but the software is not from my provider is it possible to download the software from the blackberry page and flash my phone with the appropriate software from my provider? ie flashing a CSL phone with CMHK software?

It's not flashing. Its installing a different OS.
But, as the OS is not carrier branded, it doesn't matter which provider it comes from.

but when i turn the phone on there is the CSL screen instead of CMHK and there are some preinstall softwares that does not work and they are all CSL branded. so is it okay to install the CMHK software on the a CSL phone?

That screen when you turn it on, cannot be changed. Installing a different OS doesn't change it.
Yes, its fine to install an CMHK OS (if you can find one).

Be aware that you need a blackberry data plan to use the blackberry/RIM apps that access the network. That is, data service that is specific to blackberrys. You buy it from your service provider, but it is different from the general mobile data service.
