Default AT&T Network issue?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm not receiving emails...I've only received one since last night (POP server had about 20). Here's the weird thing: Yesterday I noticed that it said "GPRS" (all caps) next to the signal strength. Just now it flipped to "gprs" (all lower case) and the signal said "off". Now it's on "GSM" (all within in a few minutes) but I'm still not getting emails....

Any ideas?

It flipped to Edge and now the emails are coming in. I'll give the Register and Service Books a try if it stops again.

Net, that has been a uncommon issue for some ATT users this past two weeks.

It think it is their network, and I don't know a solution just yet.

Sim card swap didn't work. He thinks it's the sim card....any way to test it or should I re-register and to do the Service Books too?

Also, he wants to do a "master reset" which erases everything and restores it to factory settings.

I'm on AT & T in Houston and haven't had any problems. Just installed the latest OS release, resent service books and updated a program that requires heavy data connection; emails are coming through appropriately as well.

When I have an entire building of AT&T people going down, I know it's not the SIM cards. I've narrowed it down to a tower issue that started about 2 weeks before the new iPhone was released. I can drive 3-5 miles down the road and the SOS goes away but as soon as I get back around my office, SOS comes back.

He just had me do the re-register (there were no entries). It came off of SOS and is now on GPRS but I still don't get email

Take a drive and see if it comes off and goes to EDGE. That will narrow it down to a tower issue. I'm sitting here with SOS on mine as well as all the other AT&T people in my office right now as my CEO just came up and asked me about it less then 30 seconds ago on his 8300.

I would pull the battery, wait 30 seconds, pop it back in, resend the service books after you register it again and see what happens, if that doesn't work then go for a drive and see if the SOS disappears.

That won't help if it reads GSM, gprs or edge by your signal strength meter. You need GPRS or EDGE to receive the service books and to register.

That's what I'm going to do as soon as I get off live chat. I'll keep you posted.

Update: I didn't take a drive yet as it's back on the EDGE. I registered and reset the service books and it seems to work fine. AT&T tech said it was a BB server issue.
