Suject pretty much says it all. At the top of the phone screen it says "My Number: Unknown". I've had the BB for two years, so it obviously has no impact on functionality, clearly, but it would be nice if it worked properly.

I have called Cingular/ATT about this a couple of times - they have forced a reset over the air, but that's done nothing.

All the obvious settings are set properly.

Any ideas?

tcora, look at Options, Advanced, SIM card. You should be able to edit the phone number there, and it should appear properly then.

Hmmm. I used "Edit SIM Phone Number" to try to add my phone number (none appeared). Got an error "Denied access to SIM". At the top of the screen, it says "SIM Card Security Disabled".

Any ideas?

If you dropped by a Cingular/ATT store and explained to them, they likely would give you a new SIM with the number stored. i am not sure why you can't edit yours, I can mine, and it has security disabled as well.
