Default Using SD card to access ringtones/pics??

Please Login to Remove!

I have exceeded my limit of 15MB for my internal memory for ringtones, in which it only holds two mps3. Is there a way I can store ringtones on my micro SD card and have the blackberry "access" the tones for certain contacts? (And my pics)??

Also, how can I set my background with a personal picture, i.e. like wallpaper on a desktop?

Thanks

You should be storing them there in the first place.

Set you wallpaper by opening the picture on the BB, click Menu and Set as Wallpaper.

Ok, thanks. Now with the ringtones, how can I have my BB pull the ringtones from the SD card when a call comes in??

I don't understand. My other mp3s are on my SD card. My internal memory cannot hold them. When I go to Media, select "Ringtones", the only ones listed are those internally, not on the card.

How can I see the ones on the card and select them??

Are you plugged into the PC via USB? Unplug and look again.

If you have mass storage enabled while connected to your PC via the USB cable, your BB will not be able to use the SD card. As JS said, unplug it, and whatever is on your media card should be available to the BB.

Your Media folder. Look there. You should see different folders for ringtones, music, pictures, etc.,

Go into Media, then Ringtones and it should give you the option for device memory or external memory. It should be listed in the External Memory or MediaCard. However it shows up. That isn't how you make it ring though. If it is saved in the Memory Card then you should be able to go into your profiles, advanced, select the active profile, then phone or sms or whatever notification you are changing and then browse through the tones. It should still be there.

Then you probably didn't store them in a folder called "Ringtones." Just browse your music as you normally would... can you see all your music files?

If so, go back into your contact and edit their ring tone, browsing to your MP3 collection to select the file.

Guys/gals:

Of course I have a media card inserted, I mentioned that in the beginning. I was only able to store two within my "Ringtones" folder, becuase of size limitations.

Again, how can I have the BB access the media card (micro SD) for a ringtone?

c-girl: There is no option "for device memory or external memory" in Ringtones

Open your Media folder icon > You should have choices of Media Card or Device Memory.

If the current ringtones you wish to move are in the Device Memory now, navigate to Device Memory > Home > user > ringtones (that is the path on my BB, yours could be different). Highlight the tone and press Menu > Move and navigate then to the Media Card to the proper folder named Ringtones in which you will place the ringtone. Do the same again with the other ringtones.

Does that not work?

When I select the media icon, then hit the menu button, I hit Explore and all that shows up is Device memory where I have the usual folders. Shouldn't there be a Media Card Folder??

When I go to Options, then Media Card...
tT states on the bottom of the page: A media card is not presently inseted in the device.

The card is there and seated properly.

How can I troubleshoot this problem??
