Question 8820 Keep appointments

Please Login to Remove!

In the manual for the 8820, it states that you can set the dates on the calendar for which you wish to have old appointments deleted. It states to go to the calendar and click on options, then to click on (keep appointments), but when you follow those directions, (keep appointments) is not there. Is it somewhere else, or is there something else that I have to do in order to set that?

That options should be there Calendar > Options > scroll toward bottom > Keep Appointments.

Do you see "Confirm Delete" and other options?
What OS are you running (Options > About)?

V4.2.2.169 (Platform 2.4.0.67)
I clicked on Calendar, menu, options and it is not there.
I did find "Confirm Delete" and other options?, but keep appointments is not one of my options.

Scroll down... it is in the second screen.

The second screen only has (Number of Entries: 6) in it. It is not on this screen at all, this is bugging me. I am syncing with a software called Agent Office. Do you think that could be my problem since I am not placing them directly into my 8820 or syncing with Outlook?

Default The answer?

I have the EXACT same problem and have been looking for the answer for weeks!

Apparently that option only appears when you are using BES and have wireless sync enabled - Here is the workaround from blackberry:

BlackBerry Search Results

I take it that you are saying that if I leave it alone, it will delete all old appointments after 90 days. If that is what will happen then I really do not have to do nothing because I want them to be deleted at some time or other. I have completely wiped my BB as well as tried to stand on my head trying to figure this out. Am I correct in my thinking?

If you apply the patch from that link it will cause the BB to not delete any old appointments from outlook. If you want it to delete them off the handheld after XX days, you can configure that in the sync properties of the Desktop Manager.

In it's original configuration, my BB tried to delete ALL my appointments from outlook - not just those older than 90 days like the support site suggests. I use it to record time for monthly billing so this was muy no bueno!

You could always backup your calendar to a .pst and then see what the BB does if you let it have its way

Good Luck!
