Angry on board memory???

Please Login to Remove!

i was just comparing specs on blackberry.com and i realized that the storm and bold both have 1GB "on board" Memory. Why the H*** doesnt the Tour have at least some worthwhile on board memory. instead we're stuck with 256mg Flash Memory... Whats up with that?

No.
The Storm has 1GB onboard memory & an 8GB memory card.
The Tour has 256MB onboard memory & a 2GB memory card.

The Flash memory (256 MB for the Tour, 128 MB for the other two) appears to be what's important for installing and running applications. What can you store with the onboard flash of the Bold and Storm that you can't store on the memory card of the Tour?

The 1 GB memory on the Storm is for storing media, not apps or contacts etc.

well when you put it that way i guess you are correct. i didnt realize that the you couldnt put apps on the onboard memory, that is one of my biggest problems with my 8830 not enough room for apps.

8830 only has 64 Megs ... I was excited when the 8330 came with 96.

Honestly, it's one of the biggest problems of the BB OS. You think iPhone minds you putting a 1GB application on it's 16GB of built in memory? Not a chance, it's all the same. I imagine it really limits the developers. RIM, lift this restriction!
