Default Anybody seen spy pics of the 9xxx or mockups?

Please Login to Remove!

I was wondering what folks think the 9xxx will look like. A new UI means a chance for a completely redesigned form factor. What's the speculation?

In my opinion Apple has made RIM go to the drawing board... With the Newton » The Apple Newton? Reports say itxxx8217;s coming b-a-a-a-a-ck | The BlackBerry Beat | ZDNet.com coming back is gonna make RIM re-think the 9xxx series, RIM went corporate first then consumer (pearl, Curve) Apple is going to RIM backyard now... They have the revenue and I think Apple has the experience with the iTunes servers to make a Push solution work.

RIM has to re-think, re-engineer the 9xxx series, with iPhone, HTC..etc. making super devices RIM cannot afford to rely on push-solution as a selling point.

Have you noticed how after almost 10 years RIM's push is the only TRUE push solution? (Yes, I know there are things like activesync and other heartbeat pseudo-pushes out there, but BlackBerry is the only 100% true push on the market) They've done this despite not being as large as many of their competitors.

You really think that simply having a music hosting server means you can develop an entire push delivery infrastructure? Give me a break!

HAHAHA, don't make me laugh. Sure the BB is great, but the interface and features of the iphone blow away anything RIM has now. The only thing BB has on the iphone is the keypad.

I agree. Look what is happening with Palm right now. They had a great product for its time, but instead of improving it, they sat on it, coming out with only minor improvements over the years. Now others have passed them by and Palm is now on serious life support. Could this happen to RIM, you bet ya. The iphone has just come out and I'm sure some of the lacking features will be added to future models. The Google phone, based on Linux, is forthcoming, and even Win Mobile (still crap in my mind) is making in roads.
RIM needs to move forward, which I think they are, albeit very slowly. To say that it works fine now and they have nothing to worry about is both stupid and narrow minded. If RIM adopts that mind set, it is doomed.

Newsflash, smartphones are no longer just a business tool. Smartphone are poised to make a big splash with regular consumers. And consumers replace their phones more often then business. Guess where the money is to be made. Figure it out.
