Default Qwerty Keyboard and Wi-Fi on 9000?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All,

Simply I feel the best Qwerty keyboard could be found on earlier models and most recently on the CURVE. I found my 8800's keyboard to be a pain and it looks like the new 9000 shares that same keyboard. If someone can confirm this much appreciated as it may be a show stopper HOWEVER if the new Wi-Fi does support and work well with N routers they MAYBE.

As for the 9100, qwerty touch screens to date especially on Iphone are a waste of time.

Any insight above lads!

If the QWERTY keyboard is a "show stopper" for you it will not be for most. With only a small bit of effort I and most others will make the adjustment. I like my 8820 keyboard better than my 8310.

So if it has WiFi that supports N, that will make the keyboard better?

The very BEST keyboards WOULD be found on "earlier models" but they are not bringing the 75xx series back. <vbg>

Wirelessly posted (phoobia?)

The keyboard on the 9000 is similar to that of the 88xx but has more spacing betweeen the keys from what I have read

So why should I be complaint about the Qwerty keyboard on 9000? Get to used it. Yes, WiFi does support and work on the some routers such linksys or dlink, but if it need update for fireware (sp).

From the looks of the keyboard, it will be just fine!

And why exactly is N such a big deal on a small mobile device. Do you think the BB could handle that amount of data transfer speeds. Not to mention that the 802.11n spec has not been finalized so any benefit would be negated when newer hardware was released.

I highly doubt that the BB Bold let alone the iP1 or iP2 would be able to benefit from 802.1N speeds. I have a house full of MAC gear and guess what Apple changes their spec and its not always fully backwards compatible.

thanks for the feedback all. The keyboard issue is key as it is where I spend most of my time. I have used BB's since the dawn of time so if the keypad on this unit does have the added spacing between keys in final release then great. My mates and I were field trial "Power User" testors back in the late 90's for RIM based in Ottawa so keyboard is KING and why I would never go with a touch screen.

Wi-Fi currently just shuts my 8320 down using the new Buffalo NFiniti Router but works fine at the office. I still dont have a fix for it other than as said above purchasing another N router that will accept the connection.

thanks again for your feedback
