Default Speculation on Release Date?

Please Login to Remove!

Now that the 9000 has been officially announced by RIM, anybody have any speculations until when it is out for sale by carriers? Maybe someone can take a stab at it from past announcements..

For example, anyone know how long it was between the time the Curve was officially announced and the time it was released? Who knows, they might follow the same pattern..

What are your thoughts?

We will here next from the carrier. Likely AT&T but there will also be some rumors. As the real release date gets close, the "insiders" will post the date here.

I am hoping that AT&T does not give in to the iPhone pressure and releases the 9000 Blackberry sooner rather than later.

I agree. I am actually converting from iphone to BB. The iphone is real nice and all, but after the wow factor wears off, you realize that you are missing many of the important features that come standard on a blackberry.. the 9000 looks awesome and I'd take it over iphone 2.0 in a second.. gotta love the QWERTY keyboard

Rogers seems to think that it is possible that they will have them within the month but are not saying too much.

It may help as from what I understand, there are few 8800 and 8820 in AT&T's inventory and they will need to replace it with another unit, the 9000!

July sounds good to me and June sounds even better!

well the answers i am getting from my rogers contacts is q3 (august) but i dont think rogers is going to be that dumb

and from what i have heard as well the wifi on the rogers version is going to be blocked for internet and browsing and only be able to be used for UMA... STUPID!!

now would anyone know if that "block" be a hardware block or would it be software (like OS) or would it be a block in the firmware?

Why would Rogers cripple a phone like this. From what I hear they charge way more than most other carriers.

What Rogers need is some competition! One of the few good things that the US did was deregulate the phone industry it has been great for consumer costs.

The block would be hard to beat.

i know... i was going to be the first in line for the rogers 9000 but not anymore... release day i am going to the states and going to be in line for the at&t 9000 just because of the crippled wifi on the rogers device...

and rogers would do this because they want more money... if they cripple the wifi for browsing then most people will upgrade there BB package to compensate... stupid i know... they are doing the same to the 8120 they are getting... wifi is only for UMA nothing else...

Let me clear things up about the curves att release...it came out on May 31 of 07 because I got my wifes and mine on June 1 and apple released the iPhone on June 29 so the curve was about a month ahead of the iPhone so who knows, I hope they follow the same pattern as last year

Ahh Rogers.. The Verizon to the North..

I like the speculation and if the timeline follows that of last year. We can see the 9000 in June on AT&T and September for T-Mo.. YAY!! Only a month and half.. If the speculation holds true anyway.
