Lightbulb If BB9000 shows up on eBay again...

Please Login to Remove!

It seems that the 9000 which showed up on eBay last week, is legit afterall.

We saw hadji's post, the review of kevin of CB, and I guess some of us are even looking forward to his review Part 2.

Now, supposing another BB9000 comes up on eBay from the same seller, what I'd like to know is how members of this Forum will react to it this time?

The pics of the battery compartment showed 'Property of Research in Motion'.

It's a nice review, but if I bought a device that wasn't released, and had that sticker, I probably wouldn't be advertising it. At least not under my own name

A lot of risk involved, not just legally, but in the quality of the device itself. Non production handsets are generally buggy in ways that released handsets aren't, simply becuase they aren't a finished product. I am more than happy to wait for an official release before purchasing a new device.

Kevin bought a stolen device, obviously, hence the stickers on the unit. I am certain RIM knows where it (and the others) came from.

But the review is great, kudos to Kevin and CB.

A few points to make:

1.) No way on earth would I spend a dime to get a device that is not complete, or is possibly stolen property.

2.) I have some serious questions about someone dropping $900 for a device that falls into #1, or may not even be a legit auction. My total speculation is that someone would only do this with prior knowledge of the device up for sale, and how real it is. I'm just saying.

without a doubt JS

Im certain they know who received the devices simple to track them and find out who is missing the property

You can bet the "Send it back, or we will crush you." paperwork is in the mail as we speak.

I dont want to start a flaming war here so chill...

Its due to all of the BB/ Phone sites, not just CB / BBF / TBG that we get a clearer picture of whats going on. Kevin has done no more wrong than any of the people posting and getting hold of pictures. Its free advertising for RIM, and most of whats in the review is just more detailed versions of what we get else where.

Surely its the people selling that might get the crush/letter and asked where they got it from?

I think its great to have such reviews.

You are the one that needs to relax a bit. Penguin and I were just joking (for anything else that didnt catch on to that.) Kevin has purchased a stolen device. That is a bit "more" wrong than downloading a leaked beta OS for instance. It is free advertising, but that is like saying stealing a camero advertises chevy...

As i said, i didnt want to start anything.

And i think you will find me very passive and i understood the jokes going on. Hence me not wading in.

I guess whether its hardware or software - if its released prior to consumer level then they are both as bad as each other arent they?

Its like saying - here is leaked device...:D
