The RIM employee was probably thinking of that touch screen mockup that someone made a while back.
Everyone knows that was never intended to be passed off as a real device.

Either way, this thread is entertaining.

yea it is entertaining, but...the RIM employee specifically stated that the 9000 series will not look like the pictures floating on the internet, its completley revamped and is due out exclusively to AT&T in either June or July.

By any chance... was the RIM employee riding a unicorn and wearing a pointed hat?

Must be a RIM employee who is kept out of the loop?!? A lot of them are now carrying these devices around. Fact is that there is a few people at least on this forum who have actually seen the 9000 in person, just keeping their mouths closed due to NDA.

OK, I'll give it a shot.

Seen. Touched. Sucks.

Amazing what you can do without verbs.

Um... Technically, all three of those words are verbs.
In your context, 'Sucks' is not used as one... but it certainly could be.

Sometimes people will mask the truth within a untruth, and sometimes new people actually have intel that long time members of a forum do not. I have no sources, and have no intel, but I do have a strong interest in the next BB and that it has 3G. If Scotts11 has reliable info it will prove itself, if not then that too will also show itself. What I don't get is the amount of bashing that goes on here compared to other forums I visit in the tech world. It just amazes me.

Speaking from a person of authority at BGR, while the sort of sentiments you posted are more than welcome and always appreciated, they are also rather short-sighted. Do you really think that everything BG or I write about on BGR comes from personal hands-on knowledge about what's going on? No. We have people who email us all the time about various things within the industry. We have people who tell other people who tell other people who tell us about things, although that string of source leaks tend to be fairly reliable (hence why I vaguely report on some rumors that I normally wouldn't otherwise). Now that doesn't mean everything is sourced from others, as I often have first-hand knowledge about things within this particular niche of the industry (a la BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5 screenshots and today's BlackBerry 9000 information).

But I just wanted to clarify that for you.

"Seen and touched the 9000"...sounds like a movie you'd expect to see at a bachelor party.

Wasn't that the title of Wilt Chamberlain's biography?
