Let the speculation and rumor mongering begin! Actually, this is pretty exciting stuff-a shame about the retirement of the 8700 series though. I know it is definately time, but I also know a lot of folks who have these because they have been so darn reliable.

If it doesn't come with an integrated TiVO remote, I don't want it.

I LOVE my 8700 and i'm very happy with verizon. I think I'd be happy with my 8703 for a couple more years if not for the fact that att got the curve how long ago? and now there's an 8xxx or 9000, whatever it is, that may be out and available for gsm shortly after I get my curve, assuming that's even in the cards. My 8703 is unbelievably reliable and practically bulletproof. I just hate knowing I'd have the latest and greatest (granted, maybe a few more issues) if i were on another network.

Did any early adopters of the 8700 on cingular have many issues vs those of us who waited for vzw to get it?

arrghhhhh

I'll only be a month into my vzw curve when i start trolling the boards here and drooling over the 9000. Unfortunately, leaving vzw is out of the question.

I agree about the 8700 series, they are in my mind one of the best handsets ever made...I still have my 8700G, and I use it all the time...I actually have been using for the last week. Don't get me wrong, my 8320 is a fine piece of technology, but the 8700G is such a nice handset.

I think the specs that had been released a few weeks ago, stated UMTS 850 ,1900, 2100. That would mean TMO will miss the boat on the 3G side with this device.

Why would that mean TMo will miss the boat? TMo uses 1900

Any word on whether or not this 9000 might include WiFi/UMA in its feature list? How about GPS?

And when is the "Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2008"?

I'm holding onto my old 8700g until a UMTS/UMA Blackberry comes out (or the tape holding the 8700g togehter fails)....
