How about full HTML email and browsing and a bigger freaking screen? It's a little overdue, don't you think RIM?

No it shouldnt. The iPhone sold to millions primarily because of aesthetics. If you made it functional by removing the senseless animations that happen when you do anything, it would not have sold to the same croud as much as it did.

As it stands there are far more people who buy based on aesthetics and sexiness than there are people who just want a functional device without as much of the aesthetic.

Sexy sells and Apple knows it.

u guys are nuts...bb is not going anywhere...just enjoy the phone that you have and as long as you are happy with what youve got who the hell cares about what is coming out...bb will do what they think is best for them and if that means a touch screen so be it... no doubt they will still sell a phone with the keyboard because the keyboards are amazing and consumers will demand it...despite the industry that phones are...it is still a sovereign market and we dictate what gets sold

this is just my opinion but isn't BB...BB for a reason? I do like the iphone it's very unique but It's not for me...I like a keyboard. I do way too much texting to be trying to hit the right buttons on a touchscreen and I used to have a stylus with treo and id rather do without. I'll be shocked if BB does come out with the IBB which is exactly what it looks like. To me BB has always been their own entity so I dont see them selling out anytime soon. Personally the only thing I would use the iphone for would be pictures. It's nice to view them and scroll through them on the phone...I would also use it for mp3...but not for my phone and my texting. Isn't that what the itouch is...everything i just said without the phone? That would work. Anyway I just don't think BB should feel a need to jump on the Iwagon...the grass isnt always greener...

I think it would be great if it had an ir port because that opens up alot of other applications for the unit

i dont think ive used IR since i got rid of my Palms. Never really saw a use for being a few inches away from something, to a few feet. Bluetooth is alot better, 30-150ft is nice.

Nobody uses IR now a days. They used to be commonly found in PDA type devices, but have not been used in ANY device for good reason. That type of networking has been replaced by Bluetooth, which requires less power, has more capability, and provides smaller footprint "on board". People are going more compact, and wasting real estate on a compact device for something nobody uses is pretty pointless.

Default Have You Ever Tried To Type On One...

Have you ever tried to type on one of those things? Suretype ain't the answer. I've taken the iPhone for a spin, out of curiosity, and the lack of a keyboard was a b#tch. No way I could come close to typing with the same efficiency and speed as on my 8800. Just no way. The lack of tactile feedback is impossible to get used to, at least for me. A 9900 without a keyboard -- might as well get the original, the iPhone. I'll stick with my 8800 and resent the s#it out of Rimm for not making a 3G phone that I can use.

I can type 2x faster on my iPhone than I can on my BB 8310.

you must not have very much experience typing on the BB. I use mine all day every day and get close to 50wpm on the qwerty devices now. I would like to see anyone with an iphone type that fast, let alone twice as fast as that.

I was out last night with my brother and his girlfriend. She has an iphone and I usually mess with it when we are together. Well yesterday I really wanted to try typing on it. I could not spell out one complete word without having to go back and correct a letter. The keyboard is far too narrow to be on a touchscreen.
