the names just keep getting worse if this is correct. Why would RIM pay royalties on a device by naming it something that stupid?

I agree. RIM, In its efforts to compete in the consumer market, seems to be going a little overboard with naming devices. If I wanted fluff & cute names, I'd go with another device. Let's just hope they don't lose sight of what made them the premier device for serious users - functionality, stability, security, etc.

Yeah Goldfinger, Goldmember, Sidekick. Man please don't let the marketing team make the BlackBerry name become ghetto (Ghetto Blackberry's are Sidekicks).

Why bother creating device names if you are not going to be consistent across all markets. Maybe Bold means some unpleasant over there.
