Default 9000 keyboard looks similar to the 8800

and alot of ppl didn't like the 8800 keyboard cuz it is so close to one another. i guess the 9000 won't be their cup of tea either. i hope they come out with another version that has the curve keyboard layout instead.

isnt going to happen. they arent going to redesign this device for just a new keyboard... read the reviews on crackberry.com by kevin and read what he says about the keyboard...

Agreed! The keyboard is different than the 8800. There is added spacing and Kevin says that although it looks similar, it is an improvement.

I disliked the 8800 keyboard, but I liked the 8830 keyboard.

They are similiar but subtly improved. Not all 8800 keyboards are the same. Early 8800's had mushy keyboards, 8830 have much clickier keyboards that felt more confident and I think the bevelling MAY have also changed ever so slightly; hard to tell. The ever so slightly stiffer keys helps prevent multiple keys pressed at once at the hair trigger of an adjacent finger. I would rate it more on par with the Curve 8310 for me personally.

Long live the ECN (Engineering Change Notices)

My 8820 keyboard was better than my 8800. I am betting that the 9000 will be better. I love my 8820 keyboard and it will not take long for me to get used to the 9000!

I am betting the Curve users will get used to it, too!

I use the 8310 and 8820 and the 8820 seems bigger to me. The 9000 will be an easy transition.

It looks like it will be a nice cross between 88xx and curve. which is great because after using both phones thats the keyboard i wanted in my head. Looking to be the best one to date.

The 8820 fits well in my hands and I like the overall size. The 8310 I had was nice but felt too small to me almost like a toy phone but it was a good phone when I sold it.
