JSanders did an outstanding job of comparing screen sizes in the thread. 3rd post.

EDIT - Removing link. Incorrect information

I suggest you look through this review. Part 2 has a video where the guy compares side-by-side with a Curve.

That is funny!

He is misrepresenting the screen size. The 9000 screen size is very close to the current 88xx series, it just has more pixels crammed into the same space giving higher resolution!

Actually, he didn't do an outstanding job.

Hope I don't get banned for saying that.

You won't get banned for that. I posted it without really looking at it. My guess is that it was made from early release specs provided on the product. Now that the product is official it's obviously a different story.

The comparison at that link was based on information almost a month old now, as to the size of the screen. The current specs also indicate the screen is of a higher resolution, which smacks the old information out of the ballpark... along with the screen size resolution drawings i posted in that older thread... good info then, trash now.

So, gregg and others, I was misrepresenting nothing; and your opinion Seawolf, today, on whether it was "outstanding", is worth as much today as it will be two months from now.

Yes, I know I'm a worthless user JSanders, thanks for the reminder.

PS: The comma should be inside the quotation marks, but I won't tell anyone you made that mistake.

Default Screen Size question

Kevin's overview at crackberry may help answer the question. Look under display paragraph.

No no, Seawolf, you are not worthless, I never said that, nor even intended that inference.

Your opinion on whether my screen reference drawing was "outstanding" was the point, and in two months that opinion will be worth as much as my opinion on the screen size (in the other thread) was worth a month after it was posted.

You are valued member of these forums. I didn't take the time to throw some smiley faces in the post to make it cute and obvious my intention. But hear me clearly, I was not referencing your value. I don't treat people like crap, I am sorry my sarcasm was not perfectly clear. I could care less about commas today, I'm too busy defending old posts against petty comments.

OK, that's cool, some of your colleagues aren't as magnanimous unfortunately. I apologize for misinterpreting.

Not to worry about getting the dreaded ban. If so I would not be here!

These mods are really fair and besides they have a quota thing! <vbg>

Is it mod-bashing day or something?

To the OP

It may look smaller relative to the rest of the device. The 9000 is slightly longer and wider compared to the 8800, so given the approximate same screen dimension, it gives off the illusion of a smaller screen. But if you put it next to the 8800, you'll see that its similar in size.
