Does anyone know whether: 1) The BOLD will be available with Verizon and 2) Will the BOLD work in Europe as well as the USA (like the 8830 with Verizon does)?

Thanks!

Your guess is as good as anyones on those two. Not much has been released yet and any response would be pure speculation.

One would reasonably assume that the new 9000 series will be available in CDMA flavor for both Verizon and Sprint. They typically lag behind the GSM flavor by 6 months or more, however.

As for the second question, I have no clue nor do I dare make a prediction.

The carriers have not been announced yet. Everyone assumes ATT bcause of their 3G network in place. Today is the first real day on WES, so many more information will be let loose!

Default Euope, 3G

Europe has been on 3G for a long time. The UK, for example went from GPRS to 3G and skipped EDGE. It's safe to assume it will work in Europe. RIM wouldn't be so silly as to release a brand new model and not have it work there. The frequencies listed indicate that it functioning in Europe will be the case. Now if it would just work in Japan...

I read an article somewhere yesterday and it indicated that BlackBerry Bold is able to work in Japan and South Korea.

It was announced that AT&T would have the BB Bold this summer. Verizon will get an exclusive device in Q3 or Q4 (we know Verizon) that is all touch screen. So who knows they may not get the current BB Bold in mind to late 2009 but something different.
