My info comes by way of "a friend of a friend" kinda thing, but I also heard the battery life was kicking the engineers' butts. That was a major reason for the hold up, and that no clear release date exists.

The Apple phone is for a different type of customer just like the BlackBerry is. I would like the BB9000 sooner rather than later, but I want it working right out of the gate. IOS updates from a carrier could be months post release and that just won't fly.

the market that BlackBerry rules is the Enterprise Email market. Over 80% worldwide. Apple will not make any noticeable mark in this until they can develop a device that takes longer than 4 days to hack. It doesnt matter what the device can do if its not secure.

along with the ability to lock things down. just think when u start allowing these on your network, then you have the potential to become the next college campus being sued by the riaa because people have loads of illegal mp3's on their computers for their company iphones. can you imagine how detrimental that would be to a company? the only way to help avoid this would be to block the mp3 player part of the device and thats useless not to mention something apple would never do as its essentially cutting themselves out of huge profits.

I have 2 MOTO Q9's and a BB. The Moto is 3G but to get a all day use out of it, I use the large battery which sticks out in the back but it does not get in the way nor bother me at all. If BB were a tad thicker or go the MOTO hump back way, they could go to market today. So what if the phone is a tad thicker, it is really no big deal. I have the holster for it and you cannot even tell that is not flat. I really want the BB9000 and would not object if it was a tad thicker or even the hump back battery. Just get it out and last all day which can be done now.

Here is a thought... Due to the fact that RIM is having problems with the HSPA part on the 9xxx lineup, is it possible that the CDMA variant will be first? They already have the setup for 3G in place without battery issues on the Curve, Pearl and 8830. Yes, no?

to sacrafice the asethetics of a device just to get it out before all the kinks are worked out? if you don't mind a hump on your phone, then you are in an extremely small minority. I've had a Q9, and the hump is anything but un-noticeable

chances of that happening is pretty much nil.

well, bummer. I was hoping that it would come out around july/august. I have grant money that expires Aug 31st.

Guess I will have to wait until next year's spend down before I get my 9000.

32Gb iPhone methinks, failing that maybe even bigger... 64Gb? They can put the solid state drives in their Macbook Airs and theyre thin as... well, a manilla wallet tbh.
Having said that, they can stick as much storage space as they like in an iPhone, i'm sticking to my Curve.

A picture of what?

If you're looking for pictures of the 9000 series , they're around and not at all hard to find. If you're looking for pics of the new id-10-tPhone, # 1, I don't know why you'd WANT to see pics of that POS*, and # 2, no one has pics of Crapple's new device yet, at least not that I'm aware of.

*POS = Piece Of... Crap.

Oh, OK. In that case... some of the most revealing pics of the device that we've seen so far are the ones that were found by Engadget. Click the link to take a look.

Apple is hiding their fatty phone because it will be thicker, oh couldn't they achieve all of that and make it super thin like the MacBook Air.
