As we "speak," AT&T's 3G/3.5G network can do simultaneous voice and data. About the only problem right now is coverage; it's not as expansive as their GSM network. With that being said, the 9000 and/or 3G iPhone, whenever they're released on AT&T, will be able to do voice and data simultaneously. As to which one will be released first, that's hard to tell. I think the 3G iPhone will be released first, even though it hasn't been officially announced (but that's Apple for you).

the iphone 3G will have some serious issues i would think with battery life. currently i have seen many complaints about the battery life, and adding 3G will only hurt that further. Granted, the same goes for any 3G device.

they are having a hard enough time keeping the regular iphone, ipod touch from going on fire, just wait for 3g versions.

read the last sentance of what i said please. i said the same thing goes for any 3G device. BlackBerrys however, especially the qwerty devices, are known for their battery life (29 days on the 8800 of standby). Hopefully, even taking a percentage of that battery life off because of 3G will still leave us with a viable battery in the 9000. It is a higher capacity battery, so here is hoping.

Although standby time is exceptional on the BlackBerry I'm more wanting to see Continous talk time! This is what I rate my phones on and always have. Standby is exactly that ... when i'm NOT using the phone. When I NEED the phone is when its MOST important to me. I couldn't care less if 1bar on the battery meter meant it'll last 5 days. If I had to use it on 1bar ... I'm hoping I'd get at least 30mins - 1hr left ... hopefully more EVEN on 3G without video calling. Thus far ... my K850i lasts a whole day of browsing (3G using OEM NetFront browser on HTML/xHTML/WAP sites for 2-3hrs straight), MP3/AAC audio playback (2hrs minimal), and talk time just over 1hr combined and still on standby to make it to the 20hr mark MINIMAL ... sometimes over the 24hr mark. Granted my phone doesn't have WiFi or a 2.6" screen (2.2 though); but it holds its own against ANY 3G device trying to do the SAME things I've mentioned.

Yes I crave for a new BB .... but I'll judge a 9000 usuage from others that fully give it a full days worth of pain and compare it to the K850i.

iPhone? I use phones ... not trying to become one.

Well it seems that at least in price iPhone 3G is ahead (cheaper) that BB9000...

Rumor... iPhone 3G same costs as now (varies w/ memory capacity) and the BB9000 will be $900-$1k msrp (subsidized... $500-$700)

Actually all of the pricing is just a rumor on both sides and SRP from RIM is just that, they can get it down to whatever they have to in order to move units, Apple cannot do it without looking like they are gouging their customers like they did last summer.

The Apple phone is a nice toy to me, and would be used as such a Toy. Most likely I would just get a Touch and save my money.

How does the release effect the price? Some products seem to never drop in price, I got my Curve for $99 and it's even cheaper now. (The Bose speakers for the iPod have been $299 for three years!) Does the price of the iPhone drop as fast as the BB's?
