Default Treo 750 user wanting Blackberry Help!

Please Login to Remove!

I am currently carrying the Palm Treo &50 Windows mobile version. It is going on 1.5 yrs old and is starting to act up on me!

I am doing my research to look into my next smart phone and am thinking about switching to a Blackberry. I have been satisfied with the windows mobile interface so am slightly hesitate to jump to the blackberry's. I do standard stuff, pull 5 emails accounts, one being a business account that I run through an exchange server. I would like to be able to do the same thing just on the blackberry interface obviously. I have high text volume and do have high call volume aswell.

What would be the major difference in the current blackberry's that are out as of now, 88XX series or the 83XX series, what's the difference in these models? Or would just trying to make my phone last until the 9XXX series comes out with the 3G speed that I am acustomed too and the other updrades that would come out on it. I like my phone to be extremely customizable because i use it in a lot of differnt ways.

Please let me know your ideas and thoughts on the issues?

Wirelessly posted

...the problem with suggesting that you wait on the 9000 is that no one is certain of when it will be released. You could be waiting for a while.

Just take the plunge and get what is available now. Something newer will always emerge shortly after your purchase. It would be one thing if you were already in a BB and new a release was coming soon. Get it and enjoy!

Maybe pick up a used model on the For Sale forum here, see if you like the Blackberry Experiencexxx8482;, then go for a new model down the road.

Thanks for the responses, I have enjoyed your input. I guess my main concern is that the treo is a high end device and that going to the blackberry may be down grading on what I am used to, so I guess this is where the blackberry expereince comes in to play.

Any good examples of this experience?

BB is definitely NOT a downgrade from Win Mobile. BB does what its suppose to do, I can not say the same of WM.

Actually, I had a hard time stopping my laughing when you described your Treo as a high end device, with all due respect. The drawer in my office with all the dead Treos and the number of spontaneous reboots of any of the Treos I have owned would make a discussion of Treo as anything other than a toy, specious. I believe that you have it a little backwards. You would be stepping up to a Blackberry.

Default 9000 info

So, in doing my research I was on the Phone with ATT business care trying to squezze the blackberry price down as much as I can before I jump in and get it. When I foundn out the final price they would give it to me for I asked, "Man, that's kind of cheap are they about to realease a new BB?" The Business rep told me, "well, acctually a rep told me the other day that we should see a new Blackberry in the next month or so."

After thought, I don't know the credibility of this ATT business care person, or the BB rep she had spoken to, but either way, I guess it's good info for peopel looking for the new BB!

As bad as the Treo is, I would gladly take one over a Win Mobile device.

Is this an Aprils fools joke? It had me laughing.. The Treo is a high end paper weight that hasnt been updated in tears. Just put a 600 next to a 750, the only thing missing is the antenna. LOL

Just get a BB, its 10x better than a Treo, and i used them for a long time.
