Anyone using these Motorola adapters for their old chargers to the new micro size. This is the cheapest I have seen them when you include the shipping cost.

Is the USB charging adapter different on the Bold than the 8800? I have a charger in every room I would hate to have to get all new ones.

micro and mini USB adapters are different. MicroUSB seems to be the new standard for phones. Here is a pic.

I am thinking these we will work and yes are a necessary evil at this point with the change. Not sure they will work for synching though.

I just purchased 2. Probably right about syncing, but really only need multiple ones for charging.

The 8800 chargers work on the Bold. I have many of them and they all work. All won't necessarily support synching.

Confused. 8800 has the same USB type adapter as 83xx and 81xx. How is this working? I know because I use Motorola chargers all over my house and have used same ones for my 8800, 8310, and 8110. Are you saying you have them working with an adapter as referenced in this thread?

this is a good deal, but shouldn't it be in the javelin forum? The bold uses standard miniUSB doesn't it?

The Bold does use standard Mini USB. Mine does anyway. Use the same charger and USB lead that I used on my 8800. Dont know why anyone would need a Micro USB adapter for a Bold as it wont fit the Bold.

Yes - the Bold uses the miniUSB adapter - my old Pearl chargers and USB cables work fine. As far as I'm aware, the Javelin (ie the upcoming Curve replacement) is the first Blackberry to use the MicroUSB adapter.

Pretty sure the 8220 is MicroUSB, as well as the 8900 and 95XX

I was apparently given wrong information on this for which I apologize and it doesn't apply to the Bold but only the Javelin and the new Pearl. I will move this thread or start another one and I suggest that anyone that purchased one sell them here as they will be in large demand.

I'm the same way, I got home chargers, car chargers, and sync cables all over between my home, car, company vehicle, and at work. I don't know why they have to go and change it because it's just a big pain to go and buy adapters. I just got a Palm 800W and it has the same thing and I'm considering returning it and not really sure if I should get the 8900 or not. Why change something that's so standard anyway other than another reason to make money and make us spend more money. No wonder the economy is the way it is. Oh yeah and I just needed to gripe also.
