Default Trouble Playing Music

Please Login to Remove!

I can see the music on my Pearl, but I cannot play (no option to play, play folder, etc).
Here is what I have done:
1. Inserted sandisk 1 gb card and formated.
2. Ripped music from CD using windows media player to the media card.
3. Going into media, music, media card, I see the music, as I click on it it keeps taking me to the "up" folder. Click on the menu key while on the music I downloaded does not give me option to play, play folder, etc.
4. when I hook up the pearl to desktop, I can see the music in the drive and play it through media player on the computer. the music is showing as .wma format.

I have searched through the postings, can't find answer. What am I missing? Thanks!!

The pearl doesn't play .wma files unless you have 4.2.1 software on it. Convert them to .mp3 or upgrade your software and you should be fine...

My Pearl software is 4.2.0.64 which is the most recent available per T-Mobile. My desktop manager version is 4.2.010 - and there is a more recent version available from T-Mobile.

The software you mentioned is needed for the phone, not the desktop, correct? So until T-mobile updates the phone software I cannot use that type of music file?

Yepp, just convert them to mp3 and you should be fine. I am with Cingy and had to do the same thing.

Sounds like what I had to do with my non phone PDA. I am going to try it with my 8100 this weekend.

If your using WMP 10 or 11 go to tools<options<rip music<format<scroll down to MP3. Below this in the same window, you can slide the bar to choose the bit rate. The higher the bit rate the better quality, but it also takes more space. 128 or 192 should be fine.
