All of a sudden I cannot anymore hear specific ring tones when the phone is locked. They come across fine when the phone is unlocked. The same with the custom photos I have assigned. I used the BB desktop manager to eliminate all programs I had recently restored and it made no difference. Reset by taking out battery, it had no effect. The same is happening with the color of the trackball (I use Color Pearl as the program for that).
Any thoughts?

do you have content protection and your a password to unlock? cuz if you do, thats your problem... had it for a few days as well, and i just figured it out that it was the passwork protectiong for unlocking the pearl.....

Cory, thanks! How do I eliminate the content protection? I always have had a password to unlock the Pearl because it is supplied by a BES, but as far as I remember (the last three years I had a BB) I never had this problem before. Is there a way to maintain the password (unavoidable evil!) and remove the specific content protection that blocks ring tones, color pearl and photos for the callers?

options> security options> General Settings> then select content protection near the bottom of the page, turn it off. if that doesnt work then maybe contact your BES admin and see what they say...
